What Inspired my decision to join the Real Estate Industry & what excites me about my career?

Growing up, I always had a fascination with homes and architecture. I found myself drawn to the idea of helping people find their perfect place to call home—a place where they can create memories and build their futures.

I was intrigued by the real estate market and the endless possibilities it presents. The opportunity to engage with clients from diverse backgrounds, understand their unique needs, and guide them through the process of buying or selling a property was incredibly appealing to me and in my mind the next step in my career.

What excites me most about my career in real estate is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in people's lives. Whether it's helping a first homebuyer achieve their dream of homeownership or assisting a family in finding the perfect space to accommodate their growing needs, I take immense pride in being able to be a part of these significant life moments.

What is a brief summary of your working history?

I've had a few different jobs since leaving school, I've worked as a surveyors technician, operated cranes and worked in an aluminium smelter to name some. My main career prior to real estate was in the car industry where I spent nearly a decade at a Toyota dealership, in which time I wore many different hats, my fondest being my time as the Lexus Manager.

Where did you grow up and why do you now choose to live in Cairns?

I was born in Portland in South West Victoria, which is where my family are now. I did leave Portland when I was just a baby and spent the next 15 years in the NT, spreading time between Alice Springs and Darwin. I still have a soft spot for the NT and all the memories made.

I went back to Portland when I was 15 for the next 10 years before I met my beautiful partner Karol and we decided we had had enough of the cold and went off to Coffs Harbour. We lasted a year before deciding it wasn't warm enough, we came up here to see friends, and like many people, fell in love with Cairns. Now this is home, we can't see ourselves anywhere else.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I love spending time with my little family; Karol and I have a daughter, Marley and 2 dogs. I'm a sports fan, AFL being my favourite, Richmond is my team. In footy season if there's a game on and I'm not working, you'll find me watching - regardless of who's playing. I'm also partial to wetting a line when I get the time.
